Brustportrait of the actor Bando Hikosaburo as Prince Mashiba Hisayoshi (Toyotomi Hideyoshi) and the actor Kawarazaki Gonjuro, standing under a red umbrella, in the role of the thief Ishikawa Goemon, here disguised as an aristocrat. Signed: Oju Toyokuni ro hitsu (Commissioned work, brush of an old Toyokuni). Publisher: Morimoto. Censorship: Aratame. Wood engraver: Horikichi. Excellent impression with polished pattern in the black silk coat of Goemon, blind print (sayagata pattern of the silk collar of both figures), mica at upper margin, oxidation of the tan colour of the umbrella, trimmed (36,6 x 24,5 cm each), a little bit creased, small tear at lower corner of the left margin of the right sheet.
