Rare 19th Century Deluxe Boxed Set of Three French Puzzles (1875-1880) of Military Campaigns. A Beautiful Set With Their Original Box. Rare, near impossibly to find, 19th Century deluxe box set of three puzzles made in France having excellent lithography and gold gilt accents. The scenes are military campaigns, and exercises appear to be illustrated by Jean Louis Ernest Meissonier or in the manner of. The condition of the three different puzzles are outstanding, the outer box certainly protected them well keeping the condition high. To that end, the outer box does show evidence of handling and wear comensurate with age. The puzzle pieces are quite thick, nothing like puzzles of today and likely why they have remained in such excellent condition. These are not challenging puzzles, but for any manuscript, book, or game collector, this is a great, great find.
