Description
Dated December 25, 1906, Photos by P.E. Larson, Palm Studio. Not Listed in Paher's Nevada, An Annotated Bibliography, 1980. Goldfield Daily Tribune Print. Soft red cover, string bound, two holes. Unpaginated. No title page other than the cover. Possibly funded by Milton Detch, shown on frontspeice page. Full of hundreds of advertisements from Goldfield merchants, photos of mines, fires and parts of the town. 7.5 x 11", horizontal format. 88pp. Compiled by W.J. Barnes. This incredible book appears to be the first seen by us. It has a wonderful array of ads, including many merchants collectors know about, from the Roberts Drug Store to various cigar stores that had their own tokens. It also debunks many token maverick locations, including the Roost, shown here with the inside of their cigar store and billaird parlor (not a bawdy house), the Brown Palace hotel, and more, including perhaps every saloon in town, complete with a picture of the establishments. The lot also includes four pieces of Goldfield ephemera. No copies were found in OCLC.Date: Country (if not USA): State: NevadaCity: GoldfieldProvenance:
