Female doll with thick poured wax shoulder head. Fixed blue glass eyes, painted features and long blonde hair. Original hair inserted a few strands at a time but wig overtop. Wax forearms and lower legs. All attached to cloth body by sew holes. Wearing period clothing including drawers, chemise, and cream silk skirt and jacket with lace inserts. Herbert John Meech, England, c. 1870.
H. 54 cm (21 1/2 in)

Condition

Overall very good condition. Original hair loss, covered by wig. Loss to thread connecting one side of arm. Repair to hand. Marks to wax surface consistent with age. Condition report available upon request.
