Item Details

Description

Female doll with thick poured wax shoulder head. Fixed blue glass eyes and long blonde hair in braids, hair inserted a few strands at a time. Wax forearms and lower legs. All attached to cloth body by sew holes. Wearing period clothing including drawers, chemise, petticoat, crinoline, and blush taffeta skirt and jacket. With socks and cap. Likely England, c. 1870.
H. 51 cm (20 in)

Condition

Head in very good condition. Some minor loss or discoloration to arms and hands. Minor loss and crack to one leg. Other leg likely replaced. Clothing in good condition with some loss to fastenings and minor stains to undergarments. Condition report available upon request.
