Illustrated with 155 hand-colored lithographic plates by J.T. Bowen, from drawings on the stone by William E. Hitchcock and R. Trembley, after drawings by J.J. and J.W. Audubon (with tissue guards; some torn and dampstained). Contemporary full brown morocco, elaborately stamped in blind, spine titled in gilt, joints and extremities rubbed; all edges gilt; front hinge split, binding from text block in each volume; scattered minor foxing and soiling to text and plates; light offsetting from plates; bottom of front blank in second volume torn away.
