Description
A MING DYNASTY BLUE AND WHITE DRAGON BOWL WANLI MARK AND PERIOD. Dimensions: 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 in. Provenance: The David Collins(1902-1975) Collection, acquired during Mr. Collins' career in the British Consular Service in China and Eastern Tibet between 1920s and 1930s, and thence by descent in the Collins family. A picture of Collins' residence shows the present bowl in 1940s. During his stay in Tibet and China, Collins built a significant collection of Tibetan and Chinese art.
