Dutch Architectural Painted Softwood Dower Chest Dated 1802. Blue painted ground with polychrome flowers. Inscription at base interoperated from Dutch "Give your lust for life to the lord and he will satisfy your hearts desire, 1802". Molded lid, Interior till, wrought iron strap hinges with tulip ends, wrought iron jaw lock, architectural paneled front case with shaped wrought iron key escutcheon molded base with paneled peg feet. 21"h x 47"w x 22" d. Condition: Good with wear, original paint, loss and rust to hinges.
