Description
1st millennium BC. A bronze pendant in the form of a horned animal, possibly an ibex, with upright tail, curved horns, collar and applied discoid eyes; suspension loop to the juncture of the neck and back; mounted on a custom-made stand. See the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum, accession number 72.45, for a similar example; cf. Muscarella, O. W., Bronze and Iron: Ancient Near Eastern Artifacts in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1988, item 293, for type. 32 grams, 64mm (2 1/2").
