Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Cochise County, Archaic to Woodland period, ca. 8000 BCE to 1800 CE (10000 to 200 BP). A great collection of 87 hand-knapped stone tools and projectile points all originating in Arizona. The larger tools include a scraper, a drill or an awl, and two knives made in the Elko and Agave style. Some of the identifiable projectile types are: Pelona, San Jose, Hannam Ventana, Datil, Armijo, Sierra, Chiricahua, San Pedro, Squaw Mountain, Cortero, Augustin, Rio Grande, Cienega, Cohonina, Sudden Side Notch, Elko, Meserve, Lerma, and Pinto Basin. The diversity of point types that have all been discovered in a single county is astounding. A wonderful collection! Size of case: 10" L x 1.5" W x 20" H (25.4 cm x 3.8 cm x 50.8 cm); largest tool: 4.25" L x 2" W (10.8 cm x 5.1 cm)
