Description
Regency mahogany breakfront bookcase, circa 1810, crossbanded overall in "fiddle-back" mahogany, the superstructure comprising twin glazed doors, inclosing adjustable shelves, flanked by two glazed side doors, enclosing shelves, on shaped breakfront base with twin cupboard doors, flanked by two side doors, each enclosing shelves, on toupie feet. Five locks stamped "I. Bramah Patent". Exhibited: Art Treasures, Somerset House, London 1979. Provenance: Randolph Ltd., circa 1979; Apter Fredericks, London; Christie's "The Collector: English Furniture, Clocks & Works of Art", November 14, 2017, lot 25. [78" H x 53" W x 17" D]. Right door top and right center base door do not close properly; all latches working.
