Description
This is an amazing example of mechanical music, the Lochmann Style 150 orchestrion. During the 1901 to 1915 years Lochmann music boxes sold under the Lochmann "Original" name and marketed in many different styles. The instruments were generally of superb design from an acoustical point of view. A curved wooden bridge connected the bedplate to the sounding board resulting in a brilliant and rich tone. The style 150 is unique in that Lochmann made many styles of orchestrions, but this Model 150 is seldom seen and quite possible could be transitional in the time period from Lochmann to Symphonian. This example is in beautiful straight sawn oak cabinet with disc storage compartment. Playing piano, drum, cymbal, xylophone and triangle, producing a beautiful melodic sound pleasant to listen to. Condition shows little wear, restored complete interior in working order and comes with 20 discs. Rare would be an understatement. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Excellent). Dimensions: 89" x 33" x 18".
