NORWEGIAN PLIQUE-A-JOUR ENAMELED STERLING SILVER OPEN SALTS, LOT OF TWO, each large Viking ship form with a dragon head having openwork bent silver designs with applied enamel, comprising a 0.930 silver example by Marius Hammer of Bergen, and a smaller example by David-Andersen of Oslo with British importer marks for Birmingham having 1898 date mark. Each with sterling fineness and maker's marks. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Hammer example 3 3/8" HOA, 6" LOA.
Very good overall condition with minor wear and surface scratches, enamel with some minor to moderate imperfections including hairlines/cracks, bruises, and flakes; Hammer example with a small loss to enamel along rim; David-Andersen example with a small hole along backside, possibly as made.
