oblong, rectangular, with rounded corners, decorated overall in Pan-Slavic taste, either side with a geometric cartouche with scrolling foliate motifs, flanked by cornflowers, with alternating cloisonne and red guilloche enamel, against a filigree ground, with beaded turquioise borders, interior cover marked with 84 standard, date and assayer's mark A.R in Cyrillic for Aleksandr Romanov, Moscow town mark, maker's mark IS in Cyrillic for Ignatiy Sazikov, other half of the interior marked with 84 standard and town mark, workmaster's mark IS in Cyrillic; dimensions: 4.8 x 8.8 cm (1 7/8 x 3 1/2 in.), weight: 84 g (2.96 oz)

CONDITION
The case appears in overall very good original condition, with very minor wear consistent with age and use. Miniscule losses, less than 1 mm, to some of the cloisonne enamel petals. Otherwise, no significant issues apparent under a loupe.
