Marion Huse (American, 1896-1967), two oils, including: "Abstract Seascape", oil on canvas, signed lower left, abstract coastal scene with horizontal fields of soft color, predominately blue hues, purple toned mountains in the background, unframed, wear to edges, impact in lower right, some abrasions, 11" h. x 15" w.; "The Mayflower of Gloucester, 1926", oil on canvas, signed lower right, coastal scene with a sail boat sailing through calm blue water, greenery can be seen in the background and possible a building can be seen in the right background, large blue skyline, framed in simple gold painted wood frame, surface wear and paint loss to frame, abrasion with paint loss to the top right of the sail boat, 10" h. x 8" w. [Works by Marion Huse are currently being offered at Vose Galleries and Childs Gallery, and have been sold by Spanierman Gallery in the past. This work was given to the Brockton Art Museum (MA) by the artist's husband, Dr. Robert Barstow; the BAM in turn gifted the Huse Collection to the New Britain Museum of American Art which later chose to sell some Huse works through auction at Winter Associates, Inc., CT]
