Newcomb College embroidered linen Arts & Crafts sewing bag, depicting a landscape scene of forested hills.
Art needle work (embroidery) was introduced in 1902 at Newcomb College. Linen and native cottons were used. French and Persian silks were used with several types of stitches. The desired effect was similar to Pointillist paintings.
