Description
Charles Goodyear (1800-1860) Inventor. Goodyear is credited with inventing the chemical process to create and manufacture pliable, waterproof, moldable rubber. A s rubber was adopted to multiple applications, including footwear and tires. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is named after him. 6 ½” x 2 ½” check signed, Bank of the Metropolis, April 12, 1860. Stained at the upper right. Cancellations do not touch the signature.
