Up for sale from a well known collector in Honolulu this 1972 Honduran or Mexican bronze sculpture mounted on a black marble base that depicts a panther dragging a wilder beasts leg up into a tree and was created by the well known artist Mario Zamora Alcantara (born 1920). The condition is described above for more details please check the photos.

More about the artist:
Zamora Alcantara was born in Honduras but spent most of his life in Mexico. He studied at the Tegucigalpa School of Arts and Crafts (now the National School of Fine Arts) under the tutelage of Alfredo Ruiz Barrera. In 1944 he emigrated to Mexico where he was in the San Carlos Academy until 1948. He also studied and taught at the Royal Academy in Rome where he learned the art of sculpture in marble. Some of Zamora Alcantara’s most important sculptures are in buildings and outdoor spaces in Mexico and Honduras. His most famous work is the Christ of the Picacho (1997) in Tegucigalpa.
