Impressive Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Potpourri Vase
second quarter 19th century, gilded and hand-painted with panels of flowers, the domed cover pierced and mounted with a removable flame-molded cap, and supported on griffin-headed monopodia, signed "JP" in underglaze blue, h. 19", dia. 9-1/2", under a 19th-century glass dome with a later mahogany base, h. 23-1/2", dia. 13".

Condition
In overall good condition with no visible cracks or chips. The top finial flame has been professionally restored with a nearly identical resin-cast one. The finial, the exterior of the piercework on dome and bowl, central standard, and sides and heads of paw feet have been professionally regilded. There is rubbing/loss to the gilding inside of the bowl piercework. Glass dome is intact with some wood staining along bottom edge where it sits inside the lip of the wood base.
