Condition
In overall good condition. Typical scattered minor dings, patches and filler primarily at corners. Small areas of cracking at opposing corners of the raised portion of the cover and underneath the outer ledge. A rectangular patch above one hinge at rear. Both rear corners of the foot with stabilized cracking. The rear panel with a vertical veneer buckle (approx. 1"), minor buckles along the rear foot and scattered small vertical bubbles at one side. Stringing generally in place and secure with a minor patch or loss here and there. Banding along the cover and lower edges generally good with some horizontal cracking at the aforementioned hinge. The top cover lined with old claret velvet which is now curling a bit at the edges. The compartments retain traces of the original paktong; their covers with slightly different mother-of-pearl knobs. All of the above consistent with age and use.
