Description
Meissen Porcelain Figural Group of Children at Play near a Classical Bust. Three children playing,on a low-mounded shaped oval base. The figures include a young girl on stilts, a boy behind her, helping her, and a boy in front of her, leaning on a column section, about to pull up her petticoat. All the children in 18th century dress. A bust left in the white, but on faux marbre painted plinth base. i Underglaze blue crossed swords, script g and 35 incised to underside. Dresden, Germany. Circa 1950. 11' H. x 7" W. x 5" D. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Arthur Thomson, San Francisco, CA. Butterfield & Butterfield, May 23 1989, lot 5221. The busto is attached to the base with a bolt with felt washer. Chips and losses to tree in background.
