Decorative Victorian Period Miniature Suit of Armor
c. 19th Century, Highly Decorative Victorian Period Miniature Suit of Armor, all metal with Sword, Choice Very Fine.
This Victorian Period Miniature Suit of Armor measures 12.5" tall overall. Very good quality fluted Armor in the style of the late 16th century. The Suit has a Shield and a large Broadsword and stands on a round wood plinth. The helmet visor moves up and down. The Victorian period (1837-1901) had a huge Gothic revival for interior dcor for the wealthy. Mansions and castles were decorated with all sorts of medieval weapons and suits of armor of all sizes. As original antique arms & armor were then in short supply, it resulted in a few companies producing very high-quality copies to fill the demand, which are now very highly sought collectibles. An outstanding miniature suit of armor which is ready for display.
