"The Time Machine" (1960) Replica Full Sized Working Prop Time Machine (Museum Exhibited) - This is a full sized working prop time machine based on the design in the HG Wells novel, "The Time Machine" circa 1895 and the 1960 movie of the same name which featured a similar prop. This instantly recognizable prop was created in 2015 for a series of events in California, by an engineer and machinist who spent in excess of 1,500 hours designing and building it at an astronomical cost. It has been fashioned and constructed with immense attention to detail, to resemble the original movie Time Machine including the sleigh-like chassis and shape, inspired by Pal's memories of snowy horse-drawn sleigh rides of his childhood. The frame and seat are metal with a wooden base, and everything was either sourced or handmade. The time machine features dozens of buttons and switches, along with hundreds of flashing and strobing LED lights which can be controlled by the rider. There is also a sound system present, and an AC converter mounted under the seat so the machine is low voltage. It is mounted on casters for easy movement. This piece is a unique transportation vehicle for serious car collectors, and is a great trivia piece which is sure to invoke fun conversation. This would be a fine addition to any movie memorabilia collection, and a similar Time Machine was recently featured on hit television show "The Big Bang Theory". Measurements (approximate): 40" wide x 80" long x 78" tall. This item is currently on display in a Missouri museum.
