Description
Carl Perkins Personally Owned Blue Suede Shoes W/COA (Museum Exhibited) - This wonderful piece of "Rockabilly" memorabilia is a pair of Johnson & Murphy blue suede men's dress shoes which were personally owned by Carl Perkins, who truly personified the era. These shoes are a rich navy blue suede similar to the ones pictured on Carl Perkins' 1957 "Dance Album", about which the iconic 1955 single "Blue Suede Shoes" was written. According to our seller, these shoes were previously displayed at Perkins' Suedes restaurant and museum in Jackson, Tennessee, which our seller frequented in the 1980s. The lot comes with a letter of provenance detailing how our seller came to acquire the pair from Bart Swift, who was the restaurant manager and son-in-law to Carl Perkins. The shoes were later displayed at the Elvis & Rock N' Roll Museum in Denmark, and come with a certificate of authenticity along with a copy of an original letter from Bart Swift. Size: 9B.
