Description
Marilyn Monroe Personally Owned Rhinestone Ear Clips Acquired from Eleanor "Bebe" Goddard W/COA (Museum Exhibited) - These lovely rhinestone ear clips were owned by the illustrious Marilyn Monroe. The earrings measure 1.15" in length and have a dual row design lined with clear round rhinestones. According to our seller, these earrings were acquired from Eleanor "Bebe" Goddard, who was known as the foster sister and teenage friend of a young Norma Jean Baker, as Marilyn was known at the time. Goddard and Monroe met and became friends after each had been in a series of foster homes, and they later spent several of their teenage years in the Van Nuys home of Goddard's father and his new wife Grace who was a close friend of Marilyn's institutionalized mother. The lot includes a letter of provenance from the seller which includes photographs from the 30th Anniversary Memorial Service for Marilyn Monroe on August 5th, 1992 at which our seller met Bebe Goddard, who was included in the service. These earrings were purchased by our seller from Goddard later that day. The piece was exhibited at the Elvis & Rock N' Roll Museum in Denmark, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
