This lot consists of an ink illustration on paper, done in the cartoon style of Joe Shuster (Canadian-American, 1914-1992). Image depicts the DC Comics character, Superman. A handwritten inscription at lower right. Unframed dimensions approximately 11.5" x 8.25".

Reverse side of piece features two stamps which read, "Art Gallery New York, 330 West 15th Street, New York, NY 10001" and "DC".

Joe Shuster (Canadian-American, 1914-1992) was best known for co-creating the Superman character along with the writer Jerry Siegel (American, 1914-1996). He is a member of the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame.
