Trench stick.
Improvised hand-to-hand combat weapon in the trenches of the First World War.
Such weapons were made by soldiers in the front workshops.
Part of the upper ferrule of the baton made of the fuse for an artillery shell.
The lower hardware has an eyelet for threading a leather loop around the wrist to prevent the loss of weapons in combat.Length is approx. 69 cm, diameter of the top is approx. 6 cm, the length of the upper fitting with a fuse is 11 cm, and the lower fitting is 9.5 cm.
