WHITING MEXICAN WAR / TEXAS HISTORICAL PRINTS, LOT OF TWO, lithographs, one lightly tinted, titled "BIRDS-EYE VIEW, OF THE CAMP OF THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION. / near CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, as in October 1845 / Commanded by GENL. TAYLOR", lithographed by E. Weber & Co., Baltimore; and "HEIGHTS OF MONTEREY, / from the Saltillo road looking towards the City [from the West.]", lithographed and printed by G. & W. Endicott, New York. Together with another lithograph titled "VISTA DE CHURUBUSCO", lithographed by Blanco. Three pieces total. Circa 1846 and 1847. 15 5/8" x 20 1/2"; 16 3/4" x 22 1/2"; and 10" x 13 5/8".
Good as-found condition with light foxing/toning, several short tears/creases to edges, stain to upper left corner of each.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
