1888 N173 OLD JUDGE CIGARETTES ED SEWARD BASEBALL CABINET PHOTOGRAPH, albumen print on photographer's board, featuring the Philadelphia Athletics player in batting stance, marked lower right for photographer "Goodwin & Co., New York".

Catalogue Note: Edward William Seward (1867-1947) was a Major League Baseball pitcher for six seasons (1885-1891). Over the course of his career, he played for the Providence Grays, the Cleveland Spiders, and the Philadelphia Athletics. On July 26, 1888, Seward recorded a no-hitter for the Athletics. According to the consignor, the present cabinet photograph may feature an unrecorded Ed Seward pose.
