George Goursat (1863-1934) used the signature Sem, he sat for days sketching the characters that frequented the famous paris restaurant Maxims in the early 20th century. This is a lithograph signed SEM Dimensions 18.25" X 12.5" Born in the Dordogne region of France and studied in Paris. Sem was not held in high regards in his time but attained a high level as a caricaturist and his imaginative truer to life portraits in Paris at the turn on the century.
