A very similar work by Jack Powell won the Pauline Palmer Prize at the Seventieth Exhibition by Artists of Chicago and Vicinity at the Art Institute of Chicago (March 3 - April 2, 1967). Other notable Chicago artists with paintings in the 1967 show included Gertrude Abercrombie, Ed Flood, Miyoko Ito, Gladys Nilsson, and Jim Nutt.
