This is a fine Venetian bronze figure attributed to Danese Cattaneo from the mid-16th century and the price is very low for such a famous artist like this one. A late 19th-century bronze figure of a goddess cast after a model by Danese Cattaneo (Italian, circa 1509-1572), cast after a model by Danese Cattaneo (Italian, circa 1509-1572), the nude female holding a conch shell aloft in her left hand, on a naturalistic base, 30" high, raised on a black marble socle Cattaneo was also famous as a poet, he wrote "Dell’amor di Marfisa" for the marriage of the Duke Cybo-Malaspina of Massa-Carrara.
