Description
(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Partly-printed D.S. in Cyrillic, 2pp. 4to., [n.p.], Dec. 26, 1952, an untranslated military attestation for an officer. Zhukov adds an endorsement and signs at conclusion in blue indelible pencil. Ragged margins, else very good.
