North America, Mexico, ca. 19th century CE; United States, ca. third quarter of the 20th century CE. A fine Mexican bandolier created from a single dense strip of dark-brown leather. The long, rectangular belt is meant to be worn with the sewn terminal end resting on one's shoulder to provide easy access to the ammunition held within the 50 bullet loops. Included with the bandolier are 17 mid-20th century .223 Remington Super Speed bullet cartridges to show how the ammo was stored within the bullet loops. Size: 49.5" L x 2.7" W (125.7 cm x 6.9 cm)

Condition
Loss or damage to one or both loops on 31 cartridge holsters as shown. Leather bandolier is from the 19th century, and all bullet cartridges are from the mid-20th century. Slight bending to overall form, with desiccation and rigidity commensurate with age, and light abrasions to some areas. Nice patina throughout.
