**First Time At Auction**

Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. A cast-leaded-bronze fragment depicting a powerful lion's paw atop a bull's head. This fragment was perhaps part of a furniture element given the attachment hole atop the bull's head. Mottled green and brown patina covers the entire composition. Size: 2.3" L x 1.5" W (5.8 cm x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, acquired before 2000
