Description
A VIETNAMESE/ANNAMESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN "DRAGON" EWER, SHIPWRECK ARTIFACT, 15TH/16TH CENTURY, nicely modeled in a serpentine "U" form with the speckled head slightly turned and detailed with a menacing expression of deep inset eyes over flaring nostrils and a pierced open mouth with bared fangs before a flaming mane, continuing as a stylized flaming mane running along the spine as undulating peaks, above a scaly detailed body and raised on a shaped oval flat base. Height: 10 1/2" Length: 8 1/2" Depth: 3 1/2"
Condition
Surface glaze degradation from emersion in ocean water, marine encrustation residue and barnacles, surface buildup, crazing and kiln flaws.
