A GEORGE III STYLE YEW WOOD SLANT FRONT SECRETARY BOOKCASE CABINET, 19TH CENTURY, with a rectangular molded cornice above a plain frieze and paired panel doors, opening to a double arched light bluish-green painted interior with two shelves, over a slant front door centering a brass batwing escutcheon, opening to a gilt tooled green leather writing surface before a top row of arched letter pockets on stacked short drawers flanking an arched open compartment, over an exterior long drawer with brass batwing and bale handles above recessed panel doors opening to an adjustable shelf interior, raised on shaped bracket block form feet, includes two keys. Good restored condition with warping, filled areas, repairs, normal marks and scratches from use, age cracks, brass hardware, and locks are later but appropriate for the style, surface buildup in areas, and expected general wear.
