ZANDE AFRICAN CERAMIC CLAY VESSEL, H 12", DIA 7.5" Male figure. Neck depicting a face. Rope motif around the basin. Pierced ears. The Zande people live primarily in the northeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.Provenance: Estate of Jack Faxon, Birmingham, MI. Michigan Senator and creator of the Michigan Council for the Arts.
Condition
Areas of pigment loss. Minor scuffs consistent with age and wear. Two small chips along the rim.
