Description
Three Tibetan Gilt Silver Stem Cups with Covers. The first of gently splayed octagonal section chased in high relief with pheasants and flower vases, surmounted by a wide pan divided into eight petals containing figures atop various beasts, the cover with cartouches of Buddhist symbols and flowers, alternating with mythical animals and birds, with a coral-red bead finial; the second of cylindrical section decorated with foliage issuing blooms interrupted by three reserves of deer, supporting a pan indented into eight sections depicting pheasants and flower vases amongst an incised foliate pattern, the cover with auspicious motifs and floral designs, with a spinach-green bead finial; the third further cast in similar form, embellished around the stem with floral roundels amidst peony meanders, the pan with the Eight Buddhist Emblems which repeat on the cover with cartouches of figures and animals. {Widest: 5 3/4 (14.6 cm)}. Condition: Overall surface wear, dents. The third missing the finial.
