Abstract Still Life by Bay Area Artist Jerry Opper (1924-2014) oil on canvas. Opper attended the Chouinard Art Institute, in 1947 attended the California School of Fine Arts, later to become (SFAI). He was a student of David Park (1911-1960) who was teaching there during this time and was the father of the Bay Area Figurative Movement. Most of Opper's work was in print making so an oil painting is extremely rare. He was shown at the SF Museum of Art, City of Paris Rotunda Gallery, SF, Lucien Labaudt Gallery SF 1950, Brooklyn Print Show, SF Art Association and the SF Art Commission in 1952 purchased a print for their permanent collection, 18" x 25" (A photo copy of the last image can be included if desired)
