3) A THOUSAND DAYS IN THE ARCTIC by Frederick G.Jackson, 1899.
Narrative of the Jackson-Harmsworth Expedotop (1894-97), which established winter quaters at Cape Flora. They made sledge journeys in the archipelago, surveyed, made scientific collections, hunted, and described the polar night--also included is a chapter on scurvy.
1st U.S. edition. xxiii + 940pp. + (4pp adv.).
