Mughal Empire (Mogul Empire, Gurkani). Antique circa 16th to 17th Century fine Mughal painting. Polychrome fan shape carved plaque. Depicting a large official procession with a horde of soldiers and cavalrymen on horseback, and the Mughal Emperor, possibly Shah Jahan, princes, nobles, and officials, riding in howdah carriages mounted on elephants, which wear traditional Nettipattam head ornaments. Artist signed in a fine Indo Persian script to verso. Good overall condition, normal wear. Measures approximately 5 in. x 12 3/4 in.
