Description
This set consists of all stages of production of Apple Tree Girl from the clay mold to 4 separate parts to figurine after biscuit firing, to glazed figurine before firing, to painted face figurine, to finished handpainted figurine. All are mounted on a blue stand with ceramic plaques designating the stages. The piece is signed on back by Ulrich Tendara, master painter. Display Hummels measure approx. 3 1/2" tall. No box. Display measures 14 3/4" wide x 6 1/4" deep x 13 1/2" tall. Display has wear marks and scuffs to the painted surface. There are four holes in the corners for mounting to wall. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
