Description
Hummel, Blessed Mother, PFE, possible future edition. Originally called "Virgin Mother and Child" on factory records. Modeled by Gerhard Skrobek in May 1964. Listed as possible future edition on factory records. This piece has 11/73 painting date. Painted by "K". Miller has one, I am pretty sure that this piece was pulled from the Archives by Dieter Schneider and sold or given to Bob Stiegler. Stiegler's opinion is that it will never be produced, time will tell. Hummel measures approx. 10 1/4" tall, TMK-4, Hum 372. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
