Description
This is an impressive heavy Chinese Rose Medallion six sided vase that stands approximately 13” tall. It has a wooden cover with a jade BI carving depicting archaistic dragons. It is hand painted enamel on a white ground with exceptional bright and translucent colors. These colors include: black, blues, brown, cinnabar red, gray, greens, peach, pinks, white, and yellow, with gilt (gold) accents. The six alternating panels are decorated with birds, butterflies, fish, flower blossoms, fruits, palace scenes or courtyard scenes with court officers, attendants or possibly Scholars. You will also find Chinese symbols and precious objects. The space between the panels are decorated in greenery, pink Peony blossoms, petals, and Chinese Characters. Traditional Chinese geometric pattern can be found, as well. It has the red Qianlong mark on the bottom.
