**Originally Listed At $500**
Andre Beaudin (French, 1895-1979), lithograph in colors, numbered 6/10 in pencil on the lower left, hand signed and dated 1970 in pencil by the artist on the lower right. A stunning, abstract composition by Andre Beaudin, a French artist from the School of Paris whose oeuvre branched out from Cubism to explore non-objectivity in a different manner. Beaudin's imagery ventures toward Biomorphism and Surrealism and he produced hues that are nearly translucent and magically convey a reflective quality. Note how the glassy spring green, slate grey, and white forms overlay one another in this piece. Size: image measures 15.375" L x 11.375" W (39.1 cm x 28.9 cm); sheet measures 25.5" L x 18.75" W (64.8 cm x 47.6 cm)
Beaudin attended the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs from 1911 to 1915. In 1922, he met Juan Gris, who become a lifelong friend and champion of his career. Beaudin had his first important exhibition at the Gallery Percier in 1923. Following this, he exhibited regularly in France as well as abroad, participating in major post-war School of Paris exhibitions. In 1962, Beaudin received the prestigious National Prize for Arts.
