Near East and Central Asia, Persian culture, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful iron arrowhead with a tapered, diamond-shaped head, sharpened edges, and a stocky socketing shaft. Both faces of the arrow point are adorned with gilding to form flowing foliate motifs, and within the socketing shaft is a slender copper arm with a thick suspension loop terminal. Strung on a modern necklace cord, this is a wearable example of fine Persian weaponry! Size (pendant): 0.4" W x 2.7" H (1 cm x 6.9 cm); (necklace cord): 22" L (55.9 cm)
