This lot consists of an ink and watercolor illustration on paper. A playful rendering of a fantastical, long-necked creature, done in the imaginative style of Theodor Seuss Geisel (American, 1904-1991). Handwritten inscription at lower left reads, "Dr. Seuss". Unframed dimensions are approximately 8" x 11.75".

Reverse side of piece features a stamp which reads, "Cossio Art Gallery".

Theodor Seuss Geisel (American, 1904-1991), commonly known as "Dr. Seuss", was an American children's author, political cartoonist, illustrator, poet, animator, screenwriter, and filmmaker. Seuss distinguished himself early on with his professional work in advertising art. With the onset of WWII, Seuss turned his creative powers toward political cartooning, and lastly came to design for books and film. Some of his most iconic characters include the Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, Thing One and Thing Two, and many, many more.
