This lot consists of a hand-stenciled aerosol painting on a reclaimed European road sign, done in the street art style of graffitti artist Banksy (British, 1974-). "Banksy" is stenciled at right. Image depicts a hooded man with a barking "Haring"-style dog on a leash. Rendered in the subversive, contemporary graffiti style for which Banksy is so well known. This rectangular metal European road sign measures approximately 15.75" x 19.75".

Reverse side of piece has two faded marker inscriptions which each read, "BANKSY CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON".

Banksy is an anonymous English-based street artist, vandal, political activist and painter. Banksy combines dark humor with graffiti done in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
