This lot consists of a framed, hand-stenciled aerosol painting on a piece of cardboard, done in the street art style of graffiti artist Banksy (British, 1974 - ). Image depicts a small child, eyes closed, clutching a bomb. The word “NO” is emblazoned below. Three holes located at center of piece suggest that this was used as a sign during a protest. Rendered in the subversive, contemporary graffiti style for which Banksy is so well known. Framed measurements approximately 40.5” x 31.25”. Cardboard piece measures approximately 34.25” x 24.75”.

Banksy is an anonymous English-based street artist, vandal, political activist and painter. Banksy combines dark humor with graffiti done in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.

Cardboard is in overall very good condition. Three holes visible down center of cardboard (perhaps from a nail or screw). Creases throughout. Bumps and chips around edges. Overall stencil remains vibrant and bold.
